Campu Bank in collaboration with AIA Cambodia donated USD5,000 to Sihanouk Hospital Centre of Hope

To raise public awareness on breast cancer and as part of Campu Bank’s 30th anniversary celebration this year, Campu Bank in collaboration with AIA Cambodia under the “Fit for Hope” charity drive donated a sum of USD5,000 to the Sihanouk Hospital Centre of Hope which is a well-known hospital for treatment of cancer in Cambodia on 14 February 2022.

Campu Bank donates personal computers and printers to Kampong Thmor Communal Office and Kampong Thmor High School through the National Bank of Cambodia

As part of the Campu Bank’s ongoing Environmental, Social and Governance programme, Campu Bank had on 9 July 2022, participated in a tree planting ceremony organized by the National Bank of Cambodia to plant 300 Korki Trees at Po Satharam Pagoda, located at Boeng Lvea Village, Kampong Thmor Commune, Santok District, Kampong Thom Province in conjunction with the national Tree Planting Day to inspire people to love and protect the forest and the environment.
 
The ceremony was presided by Her Excellency Dr. Chea Serey, Assistant Governor/Director General of Central Banking and attended by about 400 participants from the National Bank of Cambodia, local residents, teachers and students. 
 
In conjunction with Campu Bank’s 30th anniversary celebration this year, Campu Bank donated 5 personal computers and 3 printers for use by the Kampong Thmor Communal Office and Kampong Thmor High School students through the National Bank of Cambodia as part of Campu Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibilities initiatives.

Campu Bank donated 10,000 pcs of surgical masks and 31,500 pairs of plastic gloves to the Cambodia-Soviet Friendship Hospital

In the light of the COVID 19 pandemic, the Cambodian Government has been actively updating the public on the number of people who are infected, potential hotspots and the number of people who have successfully recovered from the virus.  
 
As part of Campu Bank’s ongoing initiative to promote our PB branding and corporate social responsibility for this year, the Bank had on 10 April 2020, donated 10,000 of surgical masks and 31,500 pairs of plastic gloves to the Cambodia-Soviet Friendship Hospital which is the only hospital jointly with Pasteur Institute of Phnom Penh appointed by the government to conduct screening test followed by treatment for COVID-19.
 
Mr Sor Sokunthea, Deputy General Manager, Mr Ngor Lyko, Assistant General Manager and Ms Bun Chanrasmey, Branch Manager of Phnom Penh Main Branch represented the Bank to hand over the medical supplies to Dr. Chan Vicheth, Deputy Director of Cambodia-Soviet Friendship Hospital at the hospital.

Campu Bank contributed USD5,000 to curb COVID-19 via Association of Banks in Cambodia

In the light of the COVID 19 pandemic from 20 February community incident, the Cambodian Government has been actively updating the public on the number of people who are infected, potential hotspots and the number of people who died and have successfully recovered from the virus.  
 
As part of Campu Bank’s ongoing initiative to promote our PB branding and corporate social responsibility for this year, the Bank had on 10 May 2021, contributed a sum of USD5,000 to curb COVID-19 via Association of Banks in Cambodia.
 
Mr. Ong Ming Teck, Chief Executive Officer and Mr Sor Sokunthea, Chief Operating Officer represented the Bank to hand over the cheque to Mr Heng Koy, General Manager of Association of Banks in Cambodia.

Cambodian Public Bank Plc. entered into Partnership on Credit Guarantee with Credit Guarantee Corporation of Cambodia Plc.

Cambodian Public Bank Plc. (Campu Bank) and Credit Guarantee Corporation of Cambodia (CGCC) entered into a partnership agreement on Credit Guarantee at Campu Bank Building on 24 February 2022.
 
The main objective of the partnership is to financially assist the Small and Medium-size Enterprises (SMEs) with easy access to funding for their business amid the COVID-19 challenges by providing working capital and capital expenditure financing which is also in line with the government’s initiative to assist SMEs to expand their business. Campu Bank will work closely with CGCC to promote guaranteed financing schemes that are offered by CGCC including the Business Recovery Guarantee Scheme (BRGS) to meet the needs and demand of the SMEs.
 
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Ong Ming Teck, Chief Executive Officer of Campu Bank said, “SMEs play a crucial role towards nation building and economic growth of Cambodia by providing employment, income and poverty reduction in the long term. The partnership would further strengthen our inspiration to promote financial inclusion and literacy to the SMEs and Cambodians especially those with limited access to low cost financing and banking services.
 
Mr Ong added that “the signing of the partnership is timely as Campu Bank is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and more new products and services, and digital initiatives will be rolled out to benefit our customers as part of its celebration to mark our strong presence in Cambodia. We are confident of playing an instrumental role towards nation building and providing financial access to the SMEs at all our 31 branches.”
 
Chief Executive Officer of CGCC, Mr. Wong Keet Loong mentioned that “CGCC is pleased to partner with Campu Bank which has a wide network of branches that can reach out to more customers to grow the development of SMEs.”
 
Mr. Wong added that “We are very encouraged to see the growth of the guaranteed loans in the first 2 months of the year which makes up of about 45% of guarantees issued in 2021.  With more economic activities, we are confident that the demand for credit guarantee will increase loans to business owners in Cambodia.  We hope the participating FIs will reach out to more SMEs including the micro segment to give them an opportunity to grow their business”
 
CGCC is a state-owned enterprise operated under the technical and financial guidance of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), and officially incorporated in November 2020. CGCC’s mission is to provide credit guarantees to lenders on loans made to businesses based on international standards to share the risk with lenders and to improve financial inclusion.
 
As of 21 February 2022, CGCC has supported 258 businesses by providing credit guarantee for their loan applications, amounting to USD 26.62 million. CGCC has provided the most guarantee to SMEs, which is accounted for 96% of the total businesses receiving the credit guarantee from CGCC.

Cambodian Public Bank celebrated its 30th Anniversary in the Kingdom of Cambodia

Cambodian Public Bank Plc. (Campu Bank) celebrated its 30th Anniversary at its Campu Bank Building on 25 May 2022.
 
Campu Bank commenced its business in the Kingdom of Cambodia on 25 May 1992 as a one-branch bank and has since expanded its network to 31 branches today with a few more new branches in the pipeline within the next few years to bring banking services closer to its customers and community. 
 
Mr Ong Ming Teck, Chief Executive Officer, said at the event that “The success of Campu Bank in the Kingdom of Cambodia for 30 years did not come by chance, but through the visionary leadership of Public Bank Group Founder, Chairman Emeritus, Director and Adviser, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Teh Hong Piow, the board and management, and contributions and team work from all levels of staff.
